I have gained wisdom

James 1:5 – If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given him.

We live in a world where we need our ‘wits about us’ just in order to make it through every day. We need to make hundreds of decisions each day, some of these as minor as picking out what to wear or what to eat for lunch, to more costlier decisions such as what business deal to close out, what house to buy, or even who to marry!

The great news is that we don’t have to make any of these decisions on our own. God promises to give us the wisdom that we need, we only need to ask Him. Ephesians 3:20 says that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think! So, when we ask God for wisdom, not only does He answer us, but we can also expect an exceedingly abundant portion! If you have decisions to make today and need some wisdom to help, simply ask for it!

Prayer: Lord, I need You in every second of every day of my life. Thank You that I don’t need to do life alone, but You are with me always. You said that all I need to do is ask for wisdom, and You answer generously. I’m asking You Father for wisdom for today, in every decision I make. I ask for wisdom to distinguish between things that are from You and what is not. I ask for wisdom to help me walk in the path that You have for me. And I thank You Lord that You are willing and able to answer me generously. In Jesus name, amen.
