Days 8 - 14: INTIMACY
There are many things God wants us to experience and achieve in our lifetime. It’s no secret there's a significant reason why you are here today. But above all these things, what God desires most from us is to be intimate with Him. Jesus said in Matthew 7:21, “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven." In verse 23, He goes onto say, “But I will reply, ‘I never knew you …’
God wants to know you intimately more than anything else. Even performing amazing miracles are all in vain if you don't know Him. Over these next seven days we will look at connecting with God in a deeper way!

Day 08

I will get closer to God through prayer

Psalm 145:18 – The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.

Believing in God is one thing, knowing Him is a completely different story.

We all know getting to know someone means taking the time to talk with them. Sadly, there are many Christians who believe in God, but don’t know Him in an intimate capacity for two reasons: 1 ) They don’t make the time to pray. 2) They don’t know how.

Prayer isn’t rocket science. It’s simply talking to God like we would anyone else. Difference is, we can tell God every little or big thing we’re afraid to share with anyone else (Hebrews 4:16).

God wants us to know Him intimately! And to do that we need to make the time to pray. From the beginning of time, God walked with Adam in the cool of day. Even Jesus would spend entire evenings on His own praying to God. The Bible tells us to go into our room, close the door, and pray to God. And He will reward us for our secret intimate time with Him.

Prayer connects us to God. Prayer positions us to enter His presence, which in turns helps us to believe to receive what we’re asking for. There is nothing like being up and close with our amazing God. Make time for Him today and experience intimacy with our Father like never before!

Prayer: God, thank You that You desire to have an intimate relationship with me! Help me to be disciplined in making time to spend with You and getting to know You deeply. I ask that every time I call on You, I’ll experience Your presence greater than ever before. In Jesus name, Amen.
